Rampur Hound
As the name suggest this breed is originally from the place called Rampur in Uttar Pradesh. We don’t have authentic detail regarding the origin of this breed , but there were present in our country for more then 300 years. These dogs for substance were generally kept for hunting big games. The feet are quiet long and very powerful with strong pasterns .They are smooth coated. they are very fast and were used for hunting wild boar and stag.
They measure around 26 to 28 inches at shoulder.
